Programs

Diamond Hill North Side Youth Association collaborates with community partners to offer programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyle choices and provide wellness information, tips, and tools that empower children and families to eat healthier and become more physically active. The following initiatives are incorporated into our youth sports and development programs.

Blue Zones Project Fort Worth: DHNS Youth Association has proved that a small organization can make a big impact on healthy behaviors. By partnering with Blue Zones Project Fort Worth, the organization has sparked an interest in eating wisely, moving naturally, and being involved with the right tribe. DHNS Youth Association has implemented many aspects of the Power 9 principles into its organization.  Whether it’s through the parent walking group or offering healthier snacks that fuel youth athletes, DHNS Youth Association inspires a life of health and wellness in the community. Learn More

Power Play: Eat Healthy. Be Active. Have Fun! Power Play is a community-based initiative designed to motivate and empower children and families to increase their fruit and vegetable intake and physical activity. The Power Play initiative implements activities and messaging in environments where children live, learn, and play. It includes youth engagement projects and community outreach.

Champions for Change: Diamond Hill North Side (DHNS) Youth Association was selected as a recipient of the ToolBox Grant Program from the North Texas Community Foundation. The grant will be used to conduct a community needs assessment to develop a community action plan and train local wellness champions. With this grant, DHNS Youth Association strives to become a champion for change and cultivate health and wellness champions that lead the organization and better serve our community’s wellness needs. Learn More
