DHNS Youth Association partnered with Diamond Hill Community Center, Blue Zones Project Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Police Department to host the first annual Diamond Hill Back to School Wellness Fair.
Over 300 backpacks with school supplies were given away to kids in the community. Thanks to generous sponsors and donors, we were able to give away bikes and other great prizes to kids who attended the fair. In addition to having access to over 14 organizations with health/wellness information, kids and families participated in yoga and boot camp activities.
Under the direction of Dr. Sonny Olivarez (UNTHSC) and Dr. Tetsuya Umebayashi (TCC), medical students from TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine and nursing students from Tarrant County College collaborated to offer free sports physicals to student athletes at the wellness fair.
